During a recent visit to Gurdwara Nishkam Seva Sikh Temple in Irving, Texas, I had the opportunity to sit down with members of the Sikh community spanning multiple generations and backgrounds and learn more about Sikhism. Through honest conversations about faith, identity, stereotypes, service, and belonging, these interviews reveal the humanity that exists beyond headlines and assumptions. Their stories remind us that understanding begins not with agreement, but with curiosity, and that meaningful conversations remain one of the most powerful tools for building stronger communities.
